Contribution assessment ceiling

The contribution assessment ceiling (Beitragsbemessungsgrenze) in statutory health insurance sets the maximum income level on which contributions are calculated. Income above this ceiling is not subject to contributions. The ceiling is adjusted annually and should not be confused with the income threshold that allows switching to private insurance (PKV).
