Civil servant incapacity for duty
Civil servant incapacity for duty (Dienstunfähigkeit) is the legal term for a civil servant's permanent inability to fulfil their official duties. It differs from general occupational disability: a civil servant can be unfit for duty without meeting the BU definition — and vice versa. Special BU tariffs with a Dienstunfähigkeitsklausel pay benefits already upon incapacity for duty.
