Trip interruption insurance

Trip interruption insurance reimburses costs when a trip already underway must be cut short — for example due to an accident or serious illness during the trip, or an emergency at home. It covers the pro-rated unused travel costs and any necessary additional costs for the return journey. It complements trip cancellation insurance, which only applies before departure.
