Pre-existing condition (pet insurance)

A pre-existing condition refers to any illness or injury that was known or already treated in a pet before the insurance policy was taken out. Most pet insurance policies exclude pre-existing conditions from coverage. This is why it pays to insure a pet while it is still young and healthy — to minimise the number of exclusions.
