Waiting period (legal insurance)

In legal expenses insurance, the waiting period is the time after signing the contract during which coverage is not yet active — typically three months. This prevents people from taking out a policy only when a specific legal dispute is already on the horizon. Traffic legal protection usually has no waiting period.
